Our current focus is pediatric populations that face high levels of stress and anxiety relative to adult patients. Why Virtual Reality? Standard solutions to acclimate patients to surgery are comprised of non-immersive tools, such as videos, storybooks, and medical play. None of these preparatory techniques provide a sense of presence that can truly acclimate patients to what they will face the day of surgery.
